Marc Girard Garcia | Cello, France

The cellist Marc Girard Garcia captivates audiences everywhere with the depth, elegance and warmth of his performances. Born in 1990 in San Francisco, Marc began his cello studies at the Toulouse Conservatoire in France, and graduated with highest honors at age 16. In 2010, he was a finalist at the Concours International de Cordes d'Epernay, won 2nd prize at the Concours International Vatelot-Rampal and entered Roland Pidoux's class at the CNSM de Paris. He then obtained his Masters degree under the tutelage of Marc Coppey in 2015.

In 2014 he became one of the founding members of the Zadig trio. Since then, the trio has won 11 international prizes, in France, Italy, Austria and the USA.

Today, the trio performs all over the world, from the USA to Taiwan, in prestigious venues such as Brussels' BOZAR, Shanghai City Theater, Taipei's Eslite Hall, Manchester's Bridgewater Hall, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, the Philharmonie de Paris... It also makes its solo debut with orchestra at Walt Disney Hall in Los Angeles, as well as with the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra in Salle Flagey. At the same time, the trio met a number of great artists who contributed to the development of its musical expression, in particular Menahem Pressler and Alfred Brendel.

Following its acclaimed debut, the Trio is broadcast on Mezzo TV and Culturebox/France TV, and is a guest on numerous radio programs: France Musique, France Inter, Musiq' 3 RTBF, RTS2 all welcome the ensemble on their airwaves. Trio Zadig has also recorded three critically acclaimed albums.

Marc Girard Garcia plays an Andrea Guarneri c.1675 with a bow made by Victor Fétique, generously loaned by the Boubo-Music foundation.
