Luca Giovannini | Cello, Italien

Born in Rovigo, Italy, Luca Giovannini has emerged as an outstanding artist of his generation. He is the prize winner of different competition: J. Brahms Competition in Pörtschach, Austria in 2018, awarded with first prize and the Audience Award, third prize at the Alice & Eleonora Schoenfeld International String Competition Harbin (China) and second prize at Janigro young competition in 2012.

Graduated in the “F. Venezze” Conservatory in 2017 with full marks under the guidance of M° Luca Simoncini, he attends various masterclasses with renowned artists, such as Gidon Kremer, Andràs Schiff, Lynn Harrell, David Geringas, G. Sollima, G. Hoffman, A. Tamestit, and Gautier Capuçon, with whom attends the “classe d’Excellence” in 2018. receives scholarships from various national and international organizations, including “Giorgetti” from the Scala of Milano and the Boris Pergamenschikow stipendium from the Kronberg Academy, where he currently study with Frans Helmerson. These studies are funded by Angela Winkler.

Luca has appeared as a soloist in many prestigious theaters in the world including the Musikverein in Vienna, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Carnegie Hall, Opera House Harbin (China), Philharmonic Theater in Berlin, Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, Teatro Della Pergola in Florence.

Luca has also performed ensembles "I Virtuosi Italiani", the orchestra of Padua and Veneto, the Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina Orchestra and the City Philaharmonic of Tokyo.

Luca has taken part in numerous national and international festivals as the Seiji Ozawa Accademy,the Gstaadt Menuhin festival, the Kronberg festival and the Cellofest in Finland.

Luca plays an Ansaldo Poggi cello from 1927 kindly granted by the cellist Mario Brunello.
