Jeremias Luther | Cello, Deutschland

Jeremias Luther, born April 25, 2006, began playing the cello at the age of five and the piano at the age of seven. Since 2014 he has regularly attended cello master classes with Prof. Barbara Lübke, as well as with Julius Berger and Julian Steckel.

Jeremias has been a precollege student at the Mozarteum Salzburg since 2016 and receives lessons from Prof. Barbara Lübke.

Jeremias multiple winner of first prizes in the national competition Jugend Musiziert in the solo category, as well as in Prima La Musica in the ensemble category.

He is third prizewinner of the international competition International Moscow Music Online Competition IMMC, as well as first prizewinner in the International Music Competition Musica Goritiensis in Slovenia. In the international Johannes Brahms competition in Pörtschach, Jeremias was the youngest player to reach the semifinals and in the Zodiac International Music Competition he reached the final.

Jeremias is a scholarship holder of the Friends of Rudens Turku association, as well as a scholarship holder of the highly gifted program of the Mozarteum Salzburg and regularly gives concerts in the Mozarteum Salzburg, in the cultural association Anthering, on the podium for young artists in Tegernsee, as a chamber musician at the Bad Reichenhall Chamber Concerts, and as a soloist the Salzburg University Weeks. As part of the Young Classic Europe in Passau 2021, Jeremias will perform in the "New Names" series.

In addition to his various solo engagements, Jeremias has been a member of the vbw Festival Orchestra Bad Wörishofen and the Salzburg State Youth Orchestra since 2020.
