Emily began her musical training on viola at the age of nine. She has been invited to attend summer festivals at Tanglewood, Brevard and Eastern Music Festivals. She studied at Boston Conservatory and Longy School of Music, earning her Undergraduate Diploma and Teaching Artist Certificate.

Ms. Lane has focused on chamber music and orchestral playing, performing with Chautauqua, Cape Cod, and American Symphony Orchestras. One of the founding members of the Con Affetto String Quartet, Ms. Lane won the Longy Honor's Competitions in 2014 & 2015 as a soloist, as well as with her string quartet. Con Affetto was also featured on WQXR's McGraw Hill Financial Young Artist Showcase in 2013. Since then, Emily has performed with orchestras in New York, Spain, Italy and Germany and has performed on Broadway with The Phantom of the Opera’s final cast. 

Emily holds her Master's in Viola Performance from Syracuse University, appearing as a soloist with the Syracuse University Orchestra after winning the 2017 Concerto Competition. She was presented with the distinguished Marion Armstrong award for Excellence in Musical Performance.
